Developing Belgium's Nature restoration plan: a mid-term assessment
This factsheet is part of the EU-wide mid-term assessment report on the nature restoration plan development process in EU member states and provides an analysis of the progress made by Belgium in developing its national NRP. This assessment was conducted by the Belgian Biodiversity Coalition which analysed the preparations of the federal and regional nature restoration plans, which together will form the national restoration plan. This mid-term assessment follows the methodology of the EU-wide report and analyses the preparation of restoration plans based on four criteria: science-based, inclusiveness, ambition and empowerment. The assessment concludes that Belgium is still at an early stage of its preparations but specifc recommendations are made for each Belgian entity to improve the development of the plan.
